Let me start by saying I love the characters of Sahvage and Mae! I also loved Balz in this book and I can't wait to read more of him。 Things I didn't like about this book was over all I felt like it was a filler book。 The storyline continues but this just seemed off for my normal love of Ward and the BDB world。 My overall opinion is this book is good but not as great as the others! I do think we needed this story so that the brothers can continue。 Let me start by saying I love the characters of Sahvage and Mae! 2。5Pros: The first half of the book definitely had me turning pages as fast as I could, swept along by the fast pacing and suspense。Cons: The characters I've come to love in this series felt like props in the background, while the attention was fixed on new characters。 I personally do not like Devina as a replacement villain for the Omega, though I'm sure there are other readers out there who feel differently。 (view spoiler)[I could not understand why Rehvenge was so dismissive of Sahvage in the 2。5Pros: The first half of the book definitely had me turning pages as fast as I could, swept along by the fast pacing and suspense。Cons: The characters I've come to love in this series felt like props in the background, while the attention was fixed on new characters。 I personally do not like Devina as a replacement villain for the Omega, though I'm sure there are other readers out there who feel differently。 (view spoiler)[I could not understand why Rehvenge was so dismissive of Sahvage in the beginning, not even questioning why a huge warrior vampire (as big as a Brother) was participating in a human fight club。 That just seemed strange, not to mention the fact that Rehvenge didn't follow up with Mae or Tallah regarding the book when it was first mentioned to him。 (hide spoiler)]Overall, I enjoyed the book, but it was not one of my favorites。 。。。more

I am not so sure about what I just read。 It was a good story but I kind of feel like it was all over the place。 I like to think that I have a pretty good memory but this made me question what I remember。 I think I will wait a few days and re-read the book before I write an actual review。

Another winnerI've been reading the Black dagger brotherhood for more years than I can count now and JR Ward never lets me down。 Every book is a new chapter in lives that I just love, keeps me connected in the old characters and brings new characters and flows into new adventures to come, I just love the series it's my absolute favorite。 Another winnerI've been reading the Black dagger brotherhood for more years than I can count now and JR Ward never lets me down。 Every book is a new chapter in lives that I just love, keeps me connected in the old characters and brings new characters and flows into new adventures to come, I just love the series it's my absolute favorite。 。。。more

3 1/2 stars I have mixed feeling about this story。 I loved Sahvage, I really adored him。 Mae on the other hand was the biggest idiot this series has ever seen and I just couldn’t stand her。 She was childish and selfish, and I kinda was hoping she would just die by the end of the story。 I loved that we got to see Rehv, but at the same time I felt like Lover Unveiled lacked a whole lot of Brothers。 There was so much page time with these new characters that it felt more like a spin off series than 3 1/2 stars I have mixed feeling about this story。 I loved Sahvage, I really adored him。 Mae on the other hand was the biggest idiot this series has ever seen and I just couldn’t stand her。 She was childish and selfish, and I kinda was hoping she would just die by the end of the story。 I loved that we got to see Rehv, but at the same time I felt like Lover Unveiled lacked a whole lot of Brothers。 There was so much page time with these new characters that it felt more like a spin off series than the main BDB book。 On the other hand, I loved that we got to see Devina in this book。 Not that watered down version from The Sinner, the real Devina。 Evil to her core。 I loved it because she is such an amazing villain。 Overall this book felt like what it is, a transition book。 It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great。 。。。more

Lover Unveiled#19 Black Dagger Brotherhood seriesJR WardBook nineteen in the Warden’s BDB series continues her intriguing and inventive new direction for the brotherhood and the species and having just eliminated the Lessoning society brings back an old evil entity to Caldwell looking for love in all the wrong places and wreaking-havoc on humans, the brotherhood and the entire vampire race and brings back a once cursed brother thought long dead to help put the evil genie back in her bottle。Mae l Lover Unveiled#19 Black Dagger Brotherhood seriesJR WardBook nineteen in the Warden’s BDB series continues her intriguing and inventive new direction for the brotherhood and the species and having just eliminated the Lessoning society brings back an old evil entity to Caldwell looking for love in all the wrong places and wreaking-havoc on humans, the brotherhood and the entire vampire race and brings back a once cursed brother thought long dead to help put the evil genie back in her bottle。Mae lost her parents in the Lesser raids that decimated the race leaving only her and her brother, when he’s killed by an unknown attacker she’s bound and determined to do whatever it takes to bring him back to life。 So she sets out to locate a book of spells that could potentially save him and ends up at an illegal human underground fight where she saves the life of the most handsome and fearsome Vampire male she’s ever seen。 But she has no time for romance she’s on a mission。The Brother Sahvage is supposed to be dead, and cursed as a Warlock even though he never had anything to do with magic, he did evade death and for the centuries since the brotherhood put dire, do not open, warnings on his coffin has been living on the fringes of the race and the Black Dagger Brotherhood looking for his cousin Raven the one with the real magic。 He knew coming to Caldwell the new seat of the brotherhood was a bad idea and when a female vampire saves his life and ties him further to her plight to save her brother and his former Black Dagger Brothers his fate is sealed。Every new edition of the BDB is amazing and just when you think it can’t get any better it does。 The Warden is a magician and the new direction she’s taking the series on is ground-breakingly original in both the storyline and world-building and that was truly evident in this novel when she brings back from the dead a brother from way back when and an evil entity who needs to die and seems to be indestructible。 Plus the audience gets catch ups on all the other brothers their shellans and the entire cast of characters from this innovative series。 Let’s chat about the stars of this novel, Sahvage and Mae, there was a review that said Mae was unlikable but that is NOT true, she’s exceptional, maternal, compassionate and brilliantly flawed and then there’s Sahvage, the mysterious, cursed hard to kill brother who’s come back from the dead and their love story was emotional and fabulous。 Cut to the evil doer, Devina who BDB fans are a bit familiar with but who was the main antagonist is JR’s Fallen Angel series and now comes to call to create chaos for the BDB, Lassiter and the species。 Brilliant! Fans of UF and of this incredible (should be read in order) series will find this unputdownable。Narration:Reading this series is fantastic but if you can swing it do get the series on Audible, the performance by Jim Frangione is remarkable。 In this edition he perfectly nails every accent and attitude, every male and female portrayal and every snark or serious moment and his representation of Devina was amazing, he got every one of her over the top sociopathic, murderous affectations to a tea。Bravo Jim!! 。。。more

New characters, new enemies, new drama。。。 Am I the only one who feels this new BDB book as if it was the season premiere of a very long TV series? With the Omega gone, I knew there would be new things coming to the BDB World。 And some questions answered (finally, we know what's up with the coffins!!)。 At the same time, lots of new questions appearing to get the readers' attraction。 In that line, I loved Sahvage。 The way Ms。 Ward introduces him, out of nowhere, was effective。 Sadly, I can't say th New characters, new enemies, new drama。。。 Am I the only one who feels this new BDB book as if it was the season premiere of a very long TV series? With the Omega gone, I knew there would be new things coming to the BDB World。 And some questions answered (finally, we know what's up with the coffins!!)。 At the same time, lots of new questions appearing to get the readers' attraction。 In that line, I loved Sahvage。 The way Ms。 Ward introduces him, out of nowhere, was effective。 Sadly, I can't say the same thing about Mae。 This character doesn't have a decent background, IMO, and her behavior sometimes is annoying。 On the other hand, their love story, which was supposed to be the main theme of the book, loses momentum in some parts of the plot, compared with the other parallel stories。 Balthazar, Nate and Lassiter (oh, FINALLY a glimpse of his story!!) take all the attention。 And when the secondary stories are more important than the main one。。。 Houston, we have a problem!!Anyway, the book is interesting enough to keep the reader attached to it。 I really like it because it has new things to explore。 Waiting for the next installment of this series。 。。。more

Devine was actually my main favorite character, she was feisty, devious and totally hilarious。 She held nothing back and when you pissed her off you'd had better get out of her way! You also had Nate, Balthazar, Sahvage's cousin Rhavyn/Elyn and Lassiter (who I adore) in the mix with the other characters。 It also seemed like the ending just got rushed through, you had to assume certain events happened to come to the ending it did。 The ending also hinted at Lassiter having his story next。 👏 Hopefully 😉 。。。more

We already had Marisol。 And why another assassin Zcipher, we already had Xhex。The series has taken a turn with Devina as the new Omega and things are so creepy now, what with the Virgin sacrifices and the book made out of flesh and the satanic rituals; and the story has also has taken a different direction with time traveling and warlocks and shit。I do like Devina very much, she’s hilarious, sneaky as she gets into Balthazar and Mae a I’ve no idea who Savage is。 And why another thief Balthazar?? His only super power is that he can’t die。 But the coffin with the warnings and his coming out of nowhere and his extensive age did nothing to create a badass character。 And it seemed to me that Lassiter is intervening way too much。 Isn’t he supposed to let things flow? But I am sooo intrigued about him and Raven。I miss the lip-biting, completely absorbing stories of sexy, possessive, brave, irresistible males。 。。。more

Ebook borrowed from library It's an interesting book for sure。 The "COUPLE" of this book。。。we the readers really have no idea who they are; and with most of the books, we've been introduced to someone in the couple in a previous book。 Now I will say that I have read most of this series out of order。 If I find a paperback for sale, library book to borrow - either online or the actual library - then I grab it and read。 Soooo。。。it's Not unusual for me to be unfamiliar with someone。 But I've read so Ebook borrowed from library It's an interesting book for sure。 The "COUPLE" of this book。。。we the readers really have no idea who they are; and with most of the books, we've been introduced to someone in the couple in a previous book。 Now I will say that I have read most of this series out of order。 If I find a paperback for sale, library book to borrow - either online or the actual library - then I grab it and read。 Soooo。。。it's Not unusual for me to be unfamiliar with someone。 But I've read some other reviews, and a lot mention confusion about Sahvage and Mae。Sahvage is actually one of the BDB from a looooooonnnngggggg time ago。 Mae is just an average vampire civilian (not of the glymera。。。the aristocrats of the vampires)。 Mae shows up to an illegal fight, searching for Revhenge to inquire about the BOOK。 Sahvage becomes distracted by Mae during the fight, gets stabbed in the neck。 Mae thinks he's dying。 Saves him with her blood and they don't know it。。。。But their love story begins。We have Rhoger, Mae's dead brother on ice。 He's why Mae needs the BOOK。 To bring him back to life。 We have Devina the demon。 The "owner" of the BOOK, who is on a bit of a murdering spree, trying to get the BOOK back。 Balz, a vampire Brother who gets seduced by Devina。 And has an interesting moment with a human detective。 (See? They'll be a couple in a future book。) The most interesting character for me was Rahvyn/Elyn (Sahvage's cousin who used the BOOK so he cannot die), and the interesting part happens in the epilogue。 Lassiter!! Very revealing conversation between him and Vishous。。。。"all I can tell you is that I never saw anything that was meant for me, true?"*** I already feel bad for the "kid", Nate。 Because he has a thing for Elyn and I'm not sure she's meant for him。 So his 1st heartbreak? ***Ms Ward keeps it interesting。 And I'll keep reading。 。。。more

A bit too convoluted and light in the romance this time。 Mae was under developed。 Too many different plot threads at once and some major witchy new powers introduced without too much explanation。 Not the best but still better than Payne’s book。

Very Mixed Feelings I'm going to try and Explain this without spoilers。I count myself a true fan of the BDB and this is the second lowest rating I have ever given a book of the series。 I'm at a loss for how baffled this story left me over all。 We got left with twice as many questions as we got answers and some of the scenes just made no sense in my mind what so ever。 I love the introduction of new characters, when there is clear plan and purpose for said characters。 There are some here that have Very Mixed Feelings I'm going to try and Explain this without spoilers。I count myself a true fan of the BDB and this is the second lowest rating I have ever given a book of the series。 I'm at a loss for how baffled this story left me over all。 We got left with twice as many questions as we got answers and some of the scenes just made no sense in my mind what so ever。 I love the introduction of new characters, when there is clear plan and purpose for said characters。 There are some here that have none of those things。 I also dislike when established characters are left by the wayside, or worse go through personality changes。 That seems to be happening off and on throughout the stories recently especially this one and that saddens me。I'm hoping the next will shed better light on things。 。。。more

Meet Sahvage, one of the damned warriors of the Black Dagger Brotherhood who was supposed to be dead and buried over a century ago。 But, he’s been “living” outside his coffin and shows up in Caldwell to participate in an underground bareknuckle fight, organized by the Reverend。 At the same time, Mae a blooded female is trying to find the Reverend as she’s in search of The Book that she needs for unexplained reasons and shows up at the bout。 She distracts Sahvage at a critical moment, setting the Meet Sahvage, one of the damned warriors of the Black Dagger Brotherhood who was supposed to be dead and buried over a century ago。 But, he’s been “living” outside his coffin and shows up in Caldwell to participate in an underground bareknuckle fight, organized by the Reverend。 At the same time, Mae a blooded female is trying to find the Reverend as she’s in search of The Book that she needs for unexplained reasons and shows up at the bout。 She distracts Sahvage at a critical moment, setting the course for their joined journey to come。 As is typical with the world of the Brotherhood, there are other subplots involving Balthazar, Murhder & Sarah’s son Nate and Lassiter, which all collide around the formidable demon, Devina。 This woman wreaks a new kind of havoc and disaster that makes the Lessers experience look like child’s play。 I’m used to the series laying the groundwork for new stories in earlier books so I was confused in the beginning, trying to figure out who Sahvage was and his backstory (don’t bother researching because this is his first appearance)。 We learn that through his memory flashbacks and it involves his cousin Rhavyn who is equally formidable。 His life is truly tragic and Mae becomes his unwanted salvation。 While I liked who I thought Mae was going to be when she first appeared, her singleminded obsession about The Book felt selfish as the story progressed and she became the weaker element of the story and romance。 It’s my understanding that Devina was introduced in the Fallen Angels series, which I haven’t read but it didn’t matter because you get her power and devious nature in this story。 I liked how the subplots came together, making for exciting and explosive moments, even if the romance fell short of my expectations。 The narrator, Jim Frangione, makes listening to the series my only option as he has provided distinctions for the Brotherhood world that just enhance the experience。 And I love his storytelling。 I’m adjusting to the change in how new characters are now introduced but enjoyed this one despite my initial confusion。 After all, it’s always great returning to Caldwell。 3。5 starsPosted on Blue Mood Café(Thanks to Simon & Schuster Audio for my complimentary copy。 All opinions are my own。) 。。。more
